Overview

BookVolley.com ("BookVolley," "we," "us") connects players and parents with independent volleyball coaches and club directors for private and small-group lessons. This policy explains what information we collect through the site and apps, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information: name, email, phone number, and (for players) age or grade, provided when you create an account or sign up as a coach or club director.
• Coach applications: playing and coaching background, certifications, accolades, and bio, if you apply to coach on the platform.
• Booking details: player name and age, guardian name, contact email and phone, and any notes or focus areas you provide when requesting a lesson.
• Club information: club name, director contact information, and facility address, if you set up or direct a club.
• Google Calendar data (only if you connect it): see the dedicated section below.

Google Calendar integration

BookVolley lets coaches, parents, and club directors optionally connect their own Google Calendar. If you choose to connect your calendar, we use that connection only to:

• Read your calendar's busy/free times, so the app can avoid double-booking you or (for club directors) accurately show which lesson times are actually available at your facility.
• Create calendar events on your own calendar when a lesson you're involved in is booked or confirmed, so it shows up alongside your other appointments.

We never read the content of unrelated events beyond their start and end time, we never share your calendar data with other users, and we never use it for advertising. You can disconnect your calendar at any time from your dashboard, which immediately revokes BookVolley's access; you can also revoke access directly from your Google Account's third-party access settings.

BookVolley's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use your information

We use the information above to operate the booking platform: creating and managing accounts, matching players with coaches, processing lesson requests and confirmations, sending email notifications about your account or bookings, and reviewing coach and club applications. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing with other users

When you book a lesson, the coach you book with sees the booking details you provide (player name, age, contact info, notes). When a coach confirms a lesson at a club, the club's director may be notified of the booking (coach, player name, and time) so they can manage facility scheduling. We share information with the service providers that power the platform — including our database and hosting provider (Supabase), email delivery provider (Resend), and the Lovable platform we build on — only as needed to operate the service, under their own confidentiality obligations.

Minors

BookVolley is used by parents and guardians to book lessons for players who are minors. Accounts are created and controlled by an adult (parent, guardian, or the coach/director themselves); player information such as name and age is provided by that adult as part of booking a lesson, not collected directly from a child.

Data retention and deletion

We retain account and booking information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us at the address below.

Your choices

You can review and update your account information from your dashboard, disconnect a connected Google Calendar at any time, and opt out of non-essential emails via the link included in those emails.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify users directly.
